Officer Stall was shot and killed as he and other officers made a high risk traffic stop. Boise officers had stopped the car and the two occupants refused to comply with orders given to them. The officers called for backup to initiate the high risk stop. The two occupants again exited the vehicle and immediately opened fire, striking Officer Stall on the right side of his body, just above his vest. Other officers returned fire, killing both suspects.
Officer Stall had served with the Boise Police Department for 3 years. He is survived by his wife and two young daughters. He is the first Boise officer known to have been killed in the line of duty in the department’s 100 year history.
