Three men attacked Constable Stoddard after breaking up a disturbance earlier in the evening at a bar located in the former mining community of Beaver Canyon. After the incident two of the men began speaking friendly to Stoddard and shaking his hand. The third suspect attacked him from behind with a straight razor.
